How the calculation works
Day and week milestones add fixed elapsed durations to the birth-date boundary, month milestones use calendar-month addition, and billion-second milestones add exactly 1,000,000,000-second intervals before displaying the resulting local calendar date.
Worked example
Ten thousand days is 1,428 complete weeks plus four days. One billion seconds is about 11,574 days, so the two milestones occur on different dates and the calculator places both in chronological order.
Metric birthdays in days and weeks
A 10,000-day birthday is an exact elapsed-day milestone, while 1,000 weeks is exactly 7,000 days. The calculator adds those fixed durations to the birth-date boundary and reports the resulting calendar date and weekday.
Day numbering can be described in two ways: after 10,000 full days have elapsed, a person reaches the 10,000-days-old milestone. Casual phrases such as 'my 10,000th day' sometimes count the birth date as day one, so shared invitations should state which convention is being used.
Months are calendar units, not thirty-day blocks
A 500-month milestone is calculated by adding 500 calendar months. It is not found by multiplying 500 by 30 because Gregorian months vary from 28 to 31 days.
If a starting day does not exist in a target month, date libraries need an explicit month-end rule. The tool's maintained month addition clamps to the final valid day rather than silently spilling into the following month.
One billion seconds and missing birth time
One billion seconds equals 11,574 days, 1 hour, 46 minutes, and 40 seconds, or about 31.7 average years. Two billion seconds is twice that elapsed duration and is included as a later landmark.
Because the form asks for a birth date rather than an exact time and timezone, second milestones are displayed at date level. The date is useful for planning, but it is not an exact globally comparable instant.
